The Scotsman (5 Jan) reports the £180 million regeneration masterplan for the James Watt dock in Greenock, by Riverside Inverclyde, has been approved in principle by Inverclyde Council. The masterplan is aimed to include the Category A-listed "sugar sheds" as part of a five mile long, mixed use development, funded by public and private investment.
Work is already underway to ensure the warehouses are wind and water tight with refurbishment plans reported to have been drawn up by FSP Architects, whose previous projects include Albert Docks, Liverpool and West India Quay, London.
