Description

Former seed warehouse. Two story red sandstone slated roof and overhanging eaves buildings cornering Kyle and Smith Street. Dated 1883. Segmental arch entrance to Kyle Street. Cast-iron rainwater goods, timber windows and doors.

Development History
21 June 2019: External inspection finds the prominent building, cornering Kyle Street & Smith Street is disused with windows boarded up in places. Roof pitches appear to be in fair overall condition with a limited number of slipped slates, the ridge is intact but fixings are rusting. A missing section of guttering is a concern, as are areas of dampness, probably as a result of defective rain water goods, notably to the Smith Street elevation. Localised areas of stone erosion are evident, notably to cills. Timber elements are in fair condition but some window frames are down to bare wood.
Full planning permission for conversion to 8 dwellings (Ref. No: 15/00419/APP) which was conditionally approved June 2015.
Full planning permission for alterations to building (Ref. No: 16/00763/APP) which was conditionally approved September 2016.
15 June 2021: Local planner advises that a planning application has been submitted (21/00401/APP) for change of use and alterations to the building to form 8 flatted dwellings.
10 September 2021: Local planner contacts BAR to advise listed building consent (21/00401/APP) has been granted for the change of use and alterations to the building to form 8 flatted dwellings.
28 April 2023: Local planners report works to implement planning permission 21/00401/APP have commenced on site. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
