Development History
November 1997: Fife Council serves a Repairs Notice on the owner. November 2000: Local planners request that the property be added to the Buildings at Risk Register. It has stood vacant since the ealy 1990s. Though permissions were granted in 1995 to redevelop the building into 3 flats and a house, no serious works were carried out. The 1997 Repairs Notice has not been complied with, and Fife Council Planning and Building Control Departments may press for Compulsory Purchase should an interest party come forward. The Council is attempting to contact the owner to ascertain his intentions. External inspection reveals that the rear outhouses are now derelict. The modern extensions were demolished about 2 years ago. 30 December 2002: The Dundee Courier reports that Compulsory Purchase proceedings are to be initiated. Discussions with potential developers and Building Preservation Trusts have already taken place. June 2003: Local planners report that the property has been sold. March 2004: Permissions are sought for alterations and redevelopment for residential use. March 2005: No obvious change in building fabric September 2007: SCT external inspection reveals property appears to be undergoing renovation as scaffolding has been erected and extension works are visible. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
January 2011: External inspection finds works to the ground floor complete with the property being marketed for sale and restoration continuing on the upper floors.
10 June 2014: External inspection finds the restoration of number 1 is completed and is now in partial occupation. The restoration of number 3 is yet to commence.
