Development History
October 1999: The building is featured in Glasgow City Council's Surplus Buildings Register. Its condition is described as fair. April 2004: External inspection reveals the building to remain in fair condition with the roof intact, though some of the skylights and leadwork may require attention. Some windows are broken and covered by metal grates, particularly to the rear. There is some vegetation growth to the rear and around the main entrance. The ground floor is used as a garage and for storage, though the use of the upper floors remains undetermined. November 2007: External inspection reveals the property remains vacant. Most of the first floor windows are boarded-over. Some of the ground floor window panes are broken. Overall, the exterior remains in fair condition.
February 2011: External inspection finds the building remains derelict. It appears to be in much the same condition as on our previous visit. The downpipe on the north-west corner is lost below first floor window level causing localised dampness.
9 June 2014: External inspection finds a new security door has been installed. Otherwise, the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
17 August 2023: External inspection finds that the building remains in similar condition as seen previously. Much of the exposed glazing is broken, although the windows appear to be generally either externally or internally boarded. The damaged and failing rainwater goods continue to leak and cause damp within the masonry. The stone cills appear to suffer from accelerated decay. There is vegetation growth within the masonry. The doors appear to be secure. Building remains At Risk.
2 May 2024: Listed building consent (ref:24/00816/LBA) is being sought for internal and external repairs (part in retrospect).
