Development History
13 March 2018: Nominated for the Register by Argyll & Bute Council.Desk based assessment using a condition report and photographs commissioned through the Campbeltown Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme. This large, prominent tenement block within the conservation area, is now majority disused – two out of three retail units are disused as are five of the ten flats to the upper levels. Slipped, missing and chipped roof slates are evident across roof pitches with dampness / areas of rot noted to sarking/ rafters beneath. Rainwater goods are defective, notably at the rear where vegetation growth is blocking gutters, with areas of dampness and staining to walls beneath. A large skylight to a stairwell is not watertight and areas of dampness/ green algae growth through the stairwell have been identified.
4 December 2018: Local planners note part of an adjacent path has been closed by the building standards team at Argyll & Bute Council, following concern about the condition of the building.
5 December 2018: External inspection finds the building in overall fair condition but there are concerns that the building will deteriorate further. Rainwater goods and windows are in need of repair and maintenance. Masonry showing signs of damp at downpipes. There is one window pane broken and boarded. Ground floor shop units in use. Upper floors appear vacant.
23 March 2020: First floor maisonette flat (9A) for sale through Future Property Auctions at a guide price of £35,000 (as at 23/03/2020). Auction scheduled for 28/04/2020 (lot 93).
25 March 2022: Being marketed for sale through auction with Future Property Auction. Guide price £29,000.
12 January 2023: No longer listed for sale.
