Description
GATE LODGE: rectangular-plan, single storey building with overhanging eaves and flat-roofed dormers. Squared and snecked sandstone with polished long and short surrounds. Keystoned, round-headed openings; rectangular windows and doors, some with cornices. Grey slate roof; centred dormer to each face; corniced stack with pair of cans; cast-iron rainwater goods (Historic Environment Scotland).

Development History
9 December 2020: External inspection finds boarded up windows and doors; slipped and damaged slates area of the roof with very temporary felt patch. All woodwork in need of repair, painting and maintenance. Areas of damage and blockages visible on rainwater goods. Some areas of damp on walls, possibly from blocked gutters. Listed Building Consent for the extension and alteration of the former gate lodge was conditionally approved in 2009 (09/02436/LBC).
22 August 2024: A member of the public advises roof replacement was undertaken in 2023. Interior works have not commenced yet.
