Development History
26 July 2021: Building nominated by local planner. Care home closed in March 2021 and now lays vacant with boarded up windows. Being marketed for sale by Savills, with price available upon application.
2 November 2021: Listed building consent (21/0020/LB) being sought to install temporary steel shutters, video cameras and alarms to provide security for the former care home.
11 December 2023: The property is being marketed for sale by Blue Alpine offered at £990,000. Previously noted Listed Building Consents (21/0020/LB) to install temporary steel shutters, video cameras and alarms to provide security for the former care home granted 17/12/2021.
5 February 2024: Property remains under marketing for sale by Blue Alpine at a fixed price of £990,000.
22 March 2024: Limited external inspection, from the public streets around the wider plot, confirms the building remains disused since closing as a care home in 2021, but overall appears to be in good condition. Walls appear plumb as do chimney stacks. From what could be viewed, the roof appears to have had some recent improvement works, valleys appear clear. Some windows are grilled, others appears to retain their glazings. Rainwater goods could not be fully assessed (but staining beneath downpipes / salts suggests there is, or was, defective water disposal) nor the building's rear elevation. The grounds are being maintained, the boundary wall is generally in fair condition but some vegetation is establishing. The Greenock Telegraph reported (15/2/2024) on discovery of a cannabis cultivation site within the disused property, by Police Scotland. The property is no longer under marketing for sale.

Move to At Risk.
