Development History
August 2000: External inspection reveals the upper floors to be empty, and although approval has been granted for flatted development there is no indication that works have commenced. The stonework to the upper floors is now beginning to flake, especially on the projections, although the exact cause is undetermined.
June 2008: External inspection finds the upper floors to remain vacant. The stonework fabric is in very poor condition with the mouldings decaying.
September 2011: Scottish Civic Trust reports the building remains at risk.
12 July 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
14 July 2015: External inspection finds the upper floors remain disused. Gutters appear blocked with vegetation.
4 March 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the upper floors remain disused.
