Development History
October 1996: Listed Building Consent is sought for the partial demolition of the steading. SCT reluctantly accepts the demolition of the south east range, but objects to that of the north west range. July 2000: External inspection reveals the mill and steading to be in a deteriorating condition. Listed Building Consent is sought for the removal of the roof structure. September 2001: Local planners report that they have received no restoration plans from the owners, and the Listed Building Consent application remains undetermined. Planning officials are considering serving a repairs notice. January 2002: The property is sold by the Coal Authority to I. and H. Brown Ltd of Perth. 6 May 2004: The Central Fife Times reports on the steading's inclusion in the Buildings at Risk Bulletin 2004-2005. October 2007: External inspection reveals the Mill house, Cartshed and Granary in particular, need of urgent attention to make them wind and water tight and secured against vandalism.
November 2008: SCT is contacted by a member of the public who advises that the building's condition continues to deteriorate. The roofs of the a number of structures are noted as either having collapsed or been de-roofed.
August 2009: SCT is contacted by a member of the public to advise that the property is for sale through Rettie and Company.
March 2010: A member of the public contacts SCT to advise that Lassodie Mill has been sold since being advertised for sale
August 2010: External inspection finds once an attractive collection of mill and steading buildings now all in ruins with the exception of the cart sheds to the rear of the range. Fencing has been erected around the site.
27 May 2014: Limited external inspection possible as overall site is fenced. From what could be viewed, the buildings appear to remain in much the same condition as seen previously.
