Development History
March 1998: External inspection shows the stone dressings, especially the rybats around the door, to be extremely weathered and in urgent need of repair. The building has previously been used as a carpenter's workshop, but it is now vacant and deteriorating. 5 May 2004: The Carrick Herald reports on the building's inclusion on the Buildings at Risk Register. October 2006: SCT is informed that the church was sold about 3/4 years ago following the death of the previous owner. It is understood that some works have been carried out including window repairs and stone work repairs, repointing etc.
November 2009: External inspection reveals that the building remains vacant. Window and door surrounds which were in a very poor condition have been replaced, however, much of the rubblework remains in a state of disrepair with large gaps in the masonry.
March 2012: Local planners report the building remains at risk.
24 April 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit other than the main door having been replaced.
17 September 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same conditon as seen previously. Vegetation is beginning to grow in the gutter.
