Development History
April 1994: External inspection reveals the stables to be near ruinous and falling into disrepair, though the house remains roofed. The owners have explored re-use in the past (particularly as flats), but access problems have frustrated their attempts. November 1994: Local planners report that they have written to the owners, reminding them of their obligations to maintain the building. SCT understands that the provision of services to the block would be difficult. January 1995: A forestry road to the building has now been constructed. The owners remain reluctant to sell, but have no immediate plans for the building. November 2000: External inspection reveals that the building continues to deteriorate, and is now partly fenced off. The carriage arch in the outermost bay to the left has collapsed. The owners intimate that they would be willing to consider any serious offers for the building, subject to the agreement of Crieff Golf Club which leases adjacent land for access. October 2006: Local planners report that the stables have been de-listed.
September 2009: External inspection finds that the building is largely ruinous other than the north-west corner which is still mostly roofed. The interior is overgrown with bushes and trees upwards of 3m high. The west arch on the south elevation has collapsed. Wallheads are unsecured and home to more plant life. The building is within a golf course and has no vehicular access.
18 March 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
13 August 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk
