Development History
December 1992: Permissions are sought to demolish. January 1993: External inspection reveals the mill to be empty and in poor condition. SCT understands that all internal machinery was removed about 20 years ago. March 1993: The mill is sold. February 1998: Permissions are sought for conversion into a dwelling. November 1998: Local planners report that consolidation works have commenced. 9 March 2001: The Donside Piper reports that Planning Permission for a new adjacent dwelling has been refused, following concerns regarding its effect on the mill. The conversion of the mill itself continues, albeit slowly. November 2001: Local planners report that part of the mill is roofless and covered in scaffolding. January 2004: Local planners report that the scaffolding remains in place. December 2007: External inspection reveals the mill to be vacant and is not secured. The roof over one wing has been partially removed. The timber window frames and doors are in poor condition and a number of windows are missing their glazing.
October 2010: External inspection finds scaffolding erected and repair works appear to be underway. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
20 August 2013: External inspection finds very little work has taken place since the last site visit. Moved back to At Risk.
