Development History
May 1995: Local planners describe the farm buildings as roofless, with the principal gable wall unsupported and liable to collapse. They have written to the owner on several occasions highlighting the condition of the buildings and enquiring as to his intentions. January 2000: Local planners are unaware of any change. 2001: Local planners enter informal discussions with an architect, although no application is subsequently lodged. March 2003: Local planners report that only the gable walls and front elevation now remain, and it is understood that these elements would need to be dismantled and rebuilt in order to ensure their future stability. April 2005: Planning Application is submitted for the proposed alterations to the farm. SCT generally welcomes the proposals with a number of recommendations. October 2006: Historic Scotland report that they approved a scheme for reuse of the farm buildings in March 2006.
March 2008: A member of the public reports that the property is being marketed for sale with full planning permission for conversion into 5 units with Howat Associates o/o £325,000
February 2010: External inspection finds the buildings are in similar condition to the last SCT visit. They are mostly roofless and unsecured.
9 November 2012: A member of the public advises the property was advertised for sale as a dvelopment opportunity, through agent DW Shaw, Mauchline. The property is not currently being marketed suggesting it may have sold.
24 October 2014: External inspection finds the site subject to continuing slow decay with further collapses evident.
