Description
Single storey 4 bay laird's house with attic, a lower service wing to the rear forming a T-plan. Built in harl-pointed rubble with droved ashlar dressings, the south west elevation features a central entrance door flanked by regularly disposed fenestration. Dormers break the eaves. The south east gable is blank. The service wing projecting from the north east elevation features a gabled stone porch with finial. The main roof is in purple-grey slate, whilst that of the rear wing and porch is in stone slab with red ridge tiles.

Development History
13 July 1990: The Scotsman reports on the sale of Uyea Island, along with all its effects, by Tait and Peterson of Lerwick. November 1990: The building is reported to be derelict. June 1995: No change reported. January 2001: Local planners are unaware of any change. June 2006: The Shetland Amenity Trust confirmed that planning permission was granted and the stone slates have been removed from the building and reused in the restoration of the Hays Dock Storehouse.
25 June 2014: Building viewed at a distance as close inspection not possible. The building is now a ruinous shell.
