Description

Former single storey gardener's cottage to Elrick House, featuring a central door with sidelights flanked by bipartite windows. 2 bipartite flat-roofed dormers sit above. Would seem to appear, along with the former corn mill & mill cottage, on the 1st edition 6" OS Map

Development History
August 2001: External inspection reveals the cottage to be vacant and partly boarded up.
January 2008: External inspection reveals the building to be unoccupied, unsecured and showing signs of vandalism. The cottage is in poor condition and is no longer wind and water tight. There is no evidence of a regular maintenance being carried out. The cottage is at risk from increasing dilapidation and further vandalism.
October 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the last site visit. The building continues to deteriorate.
30 August 2013: A member of the public advises the Elrick Estate is being marketed for sale through Savills. The cottage is noted as being included in the sale.
17 October 2013: External inspection finds the building has been vandalised and possibly broken into. The cottage is no longer wind and watertight. Risk level increased to High.
