Description
Roughly oval walled garden, orientated N-S, in poor condition (1989). Ashlar coped random rubble, brick-lined. Dovecot set into wall to S (listed separately). 2-storey, lean-to hothouse and potting shed to N; 5-bay at ground with 2 doors, doorway at 1st floor to E gable, (forestair missing') 4 small flue ventilators to walled garden, ashlar stacks and ventilators to wallhead. No surviving woodwork. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
March 1991: External inspection reveals the walled garden to be unused and in poor condition. August 2001: External inspection reveals no change.
January 2008: External inspection finds saturation of the wall due to defects and lack of maintenance and repair. Deteriorating structural stability and further collapse is likely if no remedial action is taken.
November 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the last site visit.
16 October 2013: Site visit not possible due to ground conditions. The walled garden is understood to remain At Risk.
24 May 2022: The new owner of the site contacts BARR to report repairs are underway at the walled garden and bridge. Risk moved to Low and record moved to Restoration in Progress.
