18 April 2002: The Brechin Advertiser reports that the doocot has been badly damaged by gales, and permission to demolish is being sought. Inveresk Community Council supports restoration, but accepts that finances may not be available. The doocot is roofless, with part of the front wall collapsed.
June 2009: External inspection finds the doocot now in ruinous condition and fast approaching complete collapse. LBC for demolition of walls was approved conditionally in 2002.
22 October 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
27 May 2016: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
