Development History

June 2004: External inspection reveals the building to be vacant and in poor condition, the ground floor have latterly operated as a shop. It is being marketed via Sutherland and Brown.
September 2007: External inspection reveals that the ground floor has recently been in use as a shop. The upper floors appear to have been derelict since at least 2004. There is extensive plant growth on the upper part of the north elevation.

June 2008: Site visit finds that the building is being converted to a restaurant. Most windows have been replaced.
April 2009: Site visit finds that the conversion has been completed. The restaurant does not seem to be operating and there is a sign in the window offering it for lease. Returning to AT RISK.
November 2010: External inspection finds the building remains disused above ground floor. Plants growing out of mortar joints and possible damp at upper levels are the main areas of concern.
14 August 2013: External inspection finds the condition of the building is much the same as on the previous site visit. Foliage growth to the rear remains significant, Risk moved to Moderate.
25 October 2013: Local planners advise the ground floor remains in use as a restaurant. Upper floor windows to the front elevation are secured. Plant growth is evident on the property and the upper floors remain disused.
17 October 2023: Desk-based assessment carried out using photos of exterior from BARR field visit. The upper floors of the building continue to suffer from deterioration. Damp remains an issue and algae growth is now visible on the upper masonry and above the ground floor commercial unit. Vegetation growth is visible in the brickwork on the north elevation. An upper window has been broken and boarded internally. Another window appears to be ajar allowing for water and possible bird ingress. The ground floor unit remains in use and appears to be secure. Condition moved to Poor. Remain At Risk.
