Development History
January 2001: Local planners bring the cottage to the attention of the Buildings at Risk Service. They are vacant and boarded up, and are suffering from vandalism. June 2005: Local planners report that the cottages remain disused.
February 2008: Local planners report the row of cottages remain vacant and derelict.
June 2010: External inspection finds the cottages remain vacant and in deteriorating condition. Moved to At Risk
10 March 2015: External inspection finds the buildings remain in much the same condition as seen previously. The window openings are fully boarded up.
6 August 2020: A member of the public advises Planning Permission in Principle (20/02468/PPP) is being sought for redevelopment of a land parcel which includes the row of former farm-workers cottages. The cottages are proposed for demolition.
21 September 2020: Conservation Area Consent for demolition of the buildings is being sought (20/03535/CON).
12 November 2020: External investigation finds no significant change from previous visit. Roof appears damaged with slipped slates. Chimneys are in need of repair. Rainwater goods are damaged. External walls appear sound, rear wall has been repointed. Application for demolition has been withdrawn (20/03535/CON).
3 August 2021: Planning permission in principle for a residential development at the wider site is being sought (21/03312/PPP) the design statement for which states an intention to retain the row of cottages.
