Description

Circular plan, tower 2 stage doocot with single stone rat course. Rubble with dressed door margins chamfered edges. Located on a small island in the Burn of Straloch.

Development History
January 2008: External inspection finds the doocot to be roofless. The exposed wallheads are causing saturation of masonry and are resulting in structural and material deterioration.
October 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit. The building continues to deteriorate.
30 August 2013: A member of the public advises the Elrick Estate is being marketed for sale through Savills. The doocot is noted as being included in the sale.
17 October 2013: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
16 May 2014: The estate is no longer being marketed for sale.
2 March 2016: Consent is currently being sought for the restoration of the doocot (APP/2015/3834)
