Development History
April 2008: External inspection finds the ground floor boarded up (the first floor may be in use). There is plant growth in the gutters and some cracks in the east elevation.
August 2010: External inspection finds the building remains derelict. There is no evidence of maintenance. The roof is deteriorating, as are the window frames: both are in need of repair. The gutters are blocked in several places by plant growth. The property is being marketed for sale as a development opportunity through Ritchie Neill.
October 2011: A member of the public advises that the roof has been repaired and the gutters re-newed,the cracked east elevation has been repaired and the sandstone cleaned. Full planning permission was conditionally granted for change of use from athletic club to offices (ground floor) and formation of 4 flats (first floor and attic) March 2010ref: 0827/FUL/08. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
2 May 2012: Local planners advise the upper level has been converted to flats and is now occupied. Permissions are currently being sought for conversion of the ground floor to three 1 bedroom flats ref: 0147/FUL/12
18 February 2015: A member of the public advises the ground floor remains boarded up and is painted brown.
7 April 2015: External inspection finds the ground floor remains boarded up and disused. Full Planning Permission for the conversion of the ground floor to form three flats was withdrawn ref: LIVE/0147/FUL/12.
20 December 2018: A member of the public advises the 1st floor has now been converted to flats and construction works to the ground floor are underway. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
14 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the ground floor remains disused - it was advertised for sale as a development opportunity through appointed agents Ballantynes, possibly in 2023.
