Description
Renaissance, Ashlar piers fluted between separating bands, moulded caps with ball and crown finials, flanking panels with inset armorial stones. Decorative W.I. gates. Low balustraded screens terminating in square piers. (Historic Environment Scotland List Entry)

Development History
July 2008: Inspection finds the central wrought iron gates intact but the flanking side gates now absent. There appears to be some movement in the balustrades, the 4th from south end also being shattered along the natural bed of sandstone. The old mortar fillets around the bases are breaking up and the armorial panels are weathered. The paintwork on the gates is flaking.
29 October 2012: Inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
30 June 2016: External inspection finds the structure remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
