Description

2 storey, U-plan block, open to north coursed rubble with rusticated angle quoins and polished dressings. Moulded eaves-course, piended corrugated-iron roof, rectangular corniced stack. Formerly Ednam House stables, property of Ednam House Hotel. Graded C(S) for condition. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
March 2009: External inspection suggests that the building has been vacant for some time. Many of the window frames appear rotten and have missing glass. There are damp patches and algal growth on the masonry, probably caused by malfunctioning rainwater goods.
August 2011: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit. Full planning permission and listed building consent for conversion to restaurant, shop, letting bedrooms were granted conditionally April 2006 ref:05/01756/FUL & 05/01755/LBC.
27 March 2023: Applications for planning permission and Listed Building Consent have been submitted for alterations and a second floor extension to form 4 flats. (22/01994/FUL) (22/01995/LBC).
