Development History
February 2009: The former smiddy house is brought to the attention of SCT by local planners
September 2009: External inspection finds the building appears to have been derelict for some years. The front and gables are covered in vegetation. The roof has numerous slipped slates. The stones at the front are very weathered as is the east chimney.
October 2009: Local planners report the property is in the ownership of a local family, who are understood to have occupied and worked the smiddy for a number of generations, however there is now no-one to take over the smithy business.
18 March 2014: External inspection finds the cottage remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
17 July 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk.
