Description
Rectangular-plan 3-storey, 4-bay tenement forming end of terrace with shop and licensed premises at ground. Cherry-cocked grey rubble sandstone; heavy pointing. Droved quoins; droved long and short red rubble sandstone surrounds to polished upper openings; projecting cills; corniced eaves. Shopfronts at ground comprising random rubble at ground to right of centre (No 70), polished black granite to left (No 72 - 74); harled elevation to W. S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: replacement timber door at ground in central bay; quadripartite fanlight; licensed premises to right. Replacement glazed timber door at ground to outer left (James McIntyre butcher); projecting sign on cast-iron bracket to left. Regularly fenestrated in all bays at 1st and 2nd floors. Replacement windows at ground; boarded openings at 1st and 2nd floors. Grey slate roof; coped harled apex stack to W (cans missing). INTERIOR: extensive tiling remains visible behind replacement panels at McIntyre's Butchers.

Development History
December 2009: External inspection finds the stone tenement in a generally sound condition externally, but is largely vacant. The upper floors may have been lying vacant since 1996.
30 August 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit. The window boardings have been painted.
24 May 2024: A member of the public advises the property was due to be auctioned when visited in 2023. No information can be found to suggest the building is being marketed at this time.
