Description
3-storey, 3-bay Flemish Renaissance style tenement with ground floor shop. Polished ashlar. Pilaster strips delineate bays (banded to outer left and right). Tripartite windows at 1st and 2nd floors. Plate glass timber sash and case windows to 1st and 2nd floors. Grey slate roof; corniced stacks rising from inner pilaster strips; circular cans.
Former public house, notable for its Renaissance detailing. Of particular note, are the scrolled, corniced, stepped gable and cherub spandrels. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
March 2012: External inspection finds the building has fallen out of use. The building is currently being advertised for lease (may sell) through agents Smith Cole Wright.
11 September 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously. A marketing sign is affixed advertising the property for lease or possible sale through agents Smith Cole Wright.
5 May 2022: Local planners contact BARR to advise that applications for planning permission (ref: 22/00315/APP) and listed building consent (ref: 22/00316/LBC) have been received for alterations and change of use of existing ground floor retail to form 2 retails units, first floor commercial to form residential multi occupancy flat and second floor flat to form multi occupancy flat.
6 July 2022: Local planners advise applications (22/00315/APP and 22/00316/LBC) have been conditionally approved.
28 April 2023: Local planners report works to implement planning permission 22/00315/APP and listed building consent 22/00316/LBC have commenced on site. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
