Development History
27 March 2014: External inspection finds the building in generally fair condition but with boarded up windows and a noticeable sag to the roof which is of concern. Cast iron gutters are rusted badly and the plastic gutter is broken in places. A right window lintol is cracked and a shrub is growing from the shop fascia to the right hand bay.
18 March 2020: Full planning permission for the replacement of the ground floor shop fronts and replacement of upper windows was conditionally approved (18/0145/PP ) in 2018.
14 December 2020: Local planners report the middle retail unit (Uptown Barber) has been restored to conservation standards (18/0145/PP) with assistance from Paisley TH.CARS2 grant. Work is currently proposed for the remaining two ground floor units to create a further two traditional shopfronts and to convert the upper floor into storage space for the ground floor units (19/0548/PP). TH.CARS2 has approved a building repair grant to support these additional works which are hoped to start in spring 2021.
6 September 2023: Planning Permissions (19/0548/PP) for change of use of first floor flat to use within Class 1 (Shop)/Class 2 (Financial and Professional Services), installation of pitched roof, and external alterations to front and rear including replacement of shopfront and windows were conditionally granted (08/10/2019).
Local planners advice that windows are barricaded and there is missing flashing on roof however retail still open on ground floor.
