The West End Bar (former), 2-4, Lower Bridge Street, Stirling

2-storey, 3-bay 19th-century building with entrance door to right. Large chimney stack, slate roof. Later 2-storey extension with slated roof with offset pitch to right.

Former West End Bar, later converted for residential use.

5 November 2019: Nominated by local planners for inclusion on the register. Long-term disused, unlisted building. For investigation.

8 September 2021: External inspection shows slipped slates and areas of dipping in roof. Slates visible in rainwater goods. Several windows on front elevation with broken glazing and open windows on back elevation, decreasing watertightness. Boards covering some windows deteriorated or broken. Back elevation shows signs of possible bowing in centre of wall and a vertical crack on northern corner. Property secured with no signs of vandalism or unauthorised access.

13 April 2022: Currently being marketed for sale through auction with Future Property Auctions. £158,000 opening bid.

18 May 2022: Information from auction listing indicates that one of the upper flats is tenanted. Occupation status moved to Part.

13 January 2023: Currently being marketed for sale through auction with Future Property Auctions. £100,000 opening bid, with closing date of 26th Jan 2023
