The Church is currently negotiating with Angus District Council to buy some adjacent ground. 1992: The church is sold to a new owner who has been granted Planning Permission for a change of use to storage. March 2000: No change reported. November 2003: Local planners report that the church remains vacant. May 2005: Local planeers report that the church remains at risk although it is used as storage.
June 2009: External inspection finds the church is in reasonable condition. It does not appear to be in use, although it may be utilised as storage space still.

26 November 2013: Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for alteration to form a 3-bedroom residential property are being sought ref: 13/01028/FULL & 13/01026/LBC
27 May 2016: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously, subject to slow decline. Consents for redvelopment into a 3-bedroom dwelling were lodged but withdrawn ref: 13/01028/FULL & 13/01026/LBC.
