2-storey, east facing 3-bay house with centre door; harled. Sutherland coat of arms and worn date-stone above door; small 1st floor windows
close to wallhead; 4-pane glazing in north and south gables supporting plain barge-boards; slate roof.
Sutherland/Stafford Arms above centre door; date obliterated. Skewputts projecting from gable ends characteristic of Sutherland; at Ard Neakie
probably later 19th century, dating re-roofing of house. Pier also served Heilem-Portnancon ferry. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
July 1996: External inspection reveals the building to be vacant. March 1998: The Eriboll Estate, which has recently restored Eriboll Church, reports that the house is being kept wind and watertight. The Estate does not wish to sell or lease. May 2000: Local planners are unaware of any change.
21 June 2012: External inspection finds the roof has been repaired, windows have been replaced and new rainwater goods installed.
25 September 2013: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
22 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains disused.
