Coynachie Mill, Gartly

1/3-storey rubble-built piend-roof; T-plan wing enclosing overshot wheel of approx. 15' dia. fed by trap, chute over wheel opening lintel to tail-race when not in use. Gutted except for wheel. (Historic Scotland)

May 1993: External inspection reveals the mill to be gutted, though with its wheel retained. January 2004: Local planners report no change.

October 2006: Owners report the mill has been sold to the owners of Coyneachie Farmhouse

January 2008: External inspection finds the mill to be in poor condition but wind and water tight. There is a full height vertical structural crack to the 3 storey, river fronting, gable wall. The water channels do not appear to be cleared reguarly and the adjacent ground is water logged.

October 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.

20 August 2013: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously. Trees are encroaching on the mill in several places.
