Cottage at Glenbanchor, Glenbanchor

Traditional single storey with attic stone-built croft house with slate roof. Central door to South East elevation with window to either side. Three rooflights to same elevation. Single central window to rear elevation.

Does not appear on the 1st edition (six inch series) OS map, but does on a revised edition from 1899. Sole remaining building of a former township.

January 2001: Inspection reveals the property to be vacant and now semi-derelict. All windows and doors are missing and the roof has badly deteriorated. Some original timber panels and fireplaces are retained. December 2006: LPA confirm ownership details of Glenbanchor Estate.

6 July 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.

31 January 2024: A member of the public advises the ridge beam has broken and the roof has collapsed inside. They note that the masonry is also in decline with the gable ends in various degrees of collapse.

23 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains disused.
