Description

Circular dovecot with hen house accommodation in lower portion. Harled rubble, tooled rubble dressings. Entrance in S below slate rat/alighting course encircling dovecot fronting continuous row of small square flight holes. Further entrance in upper portion at E, giving access to former pigeon loft. Conical roof of local slates. INTERIOR: former hen boxes built around base of building in wall; no ceiling survives to separate hens from pigeon loft. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
June 2008: External inspection finds the doocot's roof has collapsed (photographed intact in Brown's book on Moray Doocots) the walls are bulging with a serious fracture, possibly exacerbated when the roof collapsed.
6 September 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
15 September 2015: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
