Coursed stugged sandstone sides with slabbed carriageway; steps set into W side at S end.

The pier is perhaps Shetland's finest example of a domestic pier. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
September 2008: Inspection finds some capping stones have been washed away in places, leaving the pier exposed to further erosion.
March 2010: Inspection finds the pier is in much the same condition as on our previous visit. There is no evidence of significant additional erosion.
7 February 2013: Local planners understand the pier remains at risk, however the North Haa itself was recently sold to a new owner.
25 June 2014: Inspection finds the pier remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
27 April 2015: North Haa, along with a formal walled garden and surrounding park lands, is being marketed for sale as a development opportunity through marketing agents Dowle, Smith & Rutherford at a guide price of £250,000. The marketing particulars note planning permission and listed building consent for the restoration of the property have already been obtained. The area being marketed for sale includes the jetty.
31 May 2017: A member of the public advises the North Haa is thought to have been sold to new owners.
5 October 2022: External inspection finds the pier to be in similar condition to previous site visit.
