February 2009: Local planners bring the building to the attention of SCT.

September 2009: External inspection finds the roof is uneven and green. The ridge tiles are rusty and one is lost. The window frames are in very poor condition. The property may be in use as a store.

October 2009: Local planners report the property is in the ownership of a local family, who are understood to have occupied and worked the smiddy for a number of generations, however, there is now no-one to take over the smithy business.

18 March 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
