Development History
June 2009: The Dundee Evening Telegraph reports on one of several fires that the building has suffered recently, describing the building as vacant and derelict. The article goes on to note the property was last occupied by Marist Brothers who sold the building to a developer 18 years ago. Local planner confirms that the building is at risk.
November 2009: The Courier & Advertiser (Dundee Edition) reports on the condition of the house and efforts that are ongoing to try to save it.
March 2010: External inspection finds the building only partly visible from a public viewpoint. The roof is starting to shed slates. Some windows are boarded, many are broken or open. The building is therefore not weather tight.
13 May 2016: Limited external inspection possible, from what could be viewed the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
26 April 2017: The Dundee Evening Telegraph news website reports on a fire at the site.
17 July 2020: Listed Building Consent for demolition of the property and erection of an extension to the adjacent care house, is being sought (20/00410/LBC).
14 December 2020: A member of the public notes consent for demolition (20/00410/LBC) has been withdrawn.
18 August 2022: The building was re-assessed at de-listed in 2021. Record updated to note the building is no longer B-listed.
