Little Millhouse, Holm

Single storey, 3-bay T-plan cottage with centred pitched-roofed boarded entrance porch and lean-to addition to outer left. Harl-pointed rubble. Fixed 4- and 9-pane timber-framed windows. Stone tiled roof with cement-filled joints; harl-pointed rubble corniced stacks to each gable; replacement, tall cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.

Little Millhouse remains relatively unaltered, its interest lying in the surviving graded stone tiles and the simple, original interior. (Historic Scotland)

August 2009: External inspection finds the building is used for storage purposes. The structure is generally wind and watertight with the exception of the porch which has holes in the roof. Across the exterior the timberwork is in decayed state. The owner, who lives adjacent, is keen to restore the property.

12 September 2013: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously, although the porch has deteriorated further and the property is beginning to get a little overgrown. The building remains in use as storage.

5 March 2024: Desk-based assessment suggest the building remains At-Risk.
