Description

Surrounding churchyard to old Lesmahagow Church. Mostly 19th/ early 20th century, but some 18th gravemarkers have been recorded (S Scott) during documentation of the graveyard in the 1970s. Neo-classical mausoleum for the McKirdy family of Birkwood, burial enclosures for the Greensheilds amongst others.

Development History
February 2010: Inspection finds most of the monuments and burial enclosure is very poor. The surrounding churchyard appears to be maintained.
29 May 2013: Inspection finds the graveyard in much the same condition as the previous site visit: encroaching vegetation continues to threaten many of the markers. Risk level reduced to Low as deterioration is slow.
