Development History
February 2012: Nominated by member of public through website. Unclear exactly which building referred to, but assumed as the gate house to Skipness House and Skipness Castle. Advised as visually reasonable from the exterior but with significant water ingress with ferns and mosses growing inside. It is presently being used as a gas bottle (calor) store. The number of cobwebs around doors and windows would suggest no-one has been in for sometime. The roof could not be inspected from ground level. For Investigation.
24 July 2012: External inspection finds an attractive gate lodge in a poor condition with walls that are extremely damp condition and an interior (viewed through windows) that has been stripped out. Some vandalism evident. At Risk.
