Huntly Lodge Farm Doocot, Huntly Lodge Farm

Of unusual interest, circular, pinned boulder with red sandstone dressings, closely spaced nails bristling from joints, tapered, sharply intaken at 2 rat courses. Conical slated roof truncated by oculus. Stone and slate boxes. Remains of woodwork, ladder etc. within, perhaps from potence. (Historic Scotland)

August 1990: Local planners report that the doocot is unused, but is in good condition. It sits within Huntly Lodge Farm. December 2007: External inspection reveals the doocot to be in unsecured and in poor condition. Although relatively protected from elements due to its sheltered location within a farmyard, it is particuarly vulnerable to vehicle impact damage. The parapet and masonry generally needs early attention.

October 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.

16 October 2013: External inspection finds there are now significant vegetation growths at roof level.
