Development History
September 2007: External inspection reveals the building has been derelict since at least 2004. The pavement has been fenced off due to falling masonry. The chimney, a stone cross and sections of masonry have been removed. Many windows have been boarded over.
9 June 2014: External inspection finds the building remains unmaintained and has suffered further localised stone collapse. Vegetation growth is becoming damaging and security measures have failed in places. Condition moved to Very Poor.
31 January 2018: A member of the public advises windows have now been boarded over.
20 July 2020: A member of the public notes one of the replacement window boardings has become dislodged, allowing pigeons to enter the building. Plant growth remains prominent to the upper levels.
2 March 2023: External inspection finds that the condition of the building continues to deteriorate. There are visible openings in the roof and areas of bare sarking. Several window openings are now uncovered allowing for water and bird ingress. A vertical crack is visible above the lower right window on the east elevation. The masonry continues to suffer from damp and vegetation growth. The immediately adjacent pavement is no longer fenced off, although the area between the building and the remaining wall to the north of the site is fenced off.
